Middle School

Our Middle School Faith Formation meets on Sunday afternoons from 4:00-5:30 pm every week from September – May (please note that we have updated the time that classes will meet). Our first class will be on Sunday, September 24, 2017.

Our Catholic Middle School Youth Program is created for early adolescents in 6th and 7th Grade. It is designed to meet the educational, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of young adolescents in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. At this age, Middle School youth are open to good and bad behaviors, as well as positive and negative behaviors. Many of the values and beliefs they held as children are now being questioned and challenged. As young adolescents, they are trying to figure out who they are and what they believe. EDGE aims to help Middle Schoolers identify that truth in order to help them answer these questions.

In many respects, Middle School kids are “on the edge” because so much is going on in their lives physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially. It can be a very stressful and difficult time for them and their parents. As a Catholic Community, we have the opportunity to give our Middle School youth what they need in life: Jesus, The Word, The Eucharist, and the Church!

Sunday Meetings
Throughout the year, we will meet on Sundays from 4:00-5:30 pm. The whole concept is to break out from the typical classroom mentality. Our youth have to sit in a classroom all day at school and the last thing they want to do is sit in another classroom. Also, our faith is so much more than what we can learn from a textbook. We will not only give the teens an opportunity to learn about their faith but experience it as well.

This year we will be attending the Steubenville Day Rally in Palm Beach Gardens. This rally is specialized to address the resources and needs of today’s Catholic youth. With an exciting lineup of speakers, musicians, and presenters, the Middle School Day Rally will challenge Catholic youth to stand firm in their faith, rely on the awesome power of Jesus Christ who is their guide, friend, and Savior, and show that faith to the world.

The Sacraments are the highlight of the rally. Teens will join in a dynamic Eucharistic Liturgy during the day and will be given the opportunity to participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. There is also a powerful time of Eucharistic Exposition and Adoration. Many young people encounter the Holy Spirit for the first time. This leads to a tremendous conversion for many young people.  For more information please visit http://www.steubenvillefloridadayrally.com/

A Prayer For The Teens
Good and loving Creator you are the author of all that is good and holy. We ask you to send your Holy Spirit upon our Middle School youth and bless them with your patience, inspire them with your joy, and nurture them with your compassion. In their journey to follow Jesus, encourage them with holiness and peace.

In times of confusion and uncertainty, guide them with your wisdom and truth. May they always look to you for strength and guidance. We also ask you to send your blessings upon our Middle School program, allow it to always be a source of inspiration, acceptance, and love. May all those who minister walk always in the light of Christ and bring our young people ever closer to your son Jesus. Amen.
