Enrollment for All Faith Formation Programs for the 2018-2019 School Year is CLOSED

CHOSEN Confirmation will begin Sunday and Tuesday, October 7th and 9th

You did not choose me, but I chose you…”

~John 15:16

Our Confirmation program here at St. Therese is designed to meet the educational and spiritual needs of our teenagers. CHOSEN: Your Journey Toward Confirmation is a program that provides everything you need to prepare the teens both intellectually and spiritually to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation and to become lifelong disciples of Christ. Unfortunately, all too often teens drift away from the Church after Confirmation.  CHOSEN seeks to reverse this trend by winning over the hearts of teens at a critical time in their lives and keeping them firmly planted within the faith community of the Church.

CHOSEN’s carefully designed methodology features highly effective and engaging material conveyed through videos, student workbooks, and classroom experience. Guides for leaders, parents, and sponsors––as well as additional online resources––, make CHOSEN  unlike any program available in the Church today.

This year, we will be requiring a day retreat in the Fall of 2018 along with a weekend retreat at the end of their journey in the Fall of 2019. These retreats will be a time for the youth to get away from all the pressures this world puts on them and to focus on their relationship with God. Throughout the retreats, there will be skits performed by high school teens, guest speakers, a time for Reconciliation, and much more.

Our Confirmation process as a whole challenge the teens to claim their faith as their own and to begin to form a relationship with Christ. We remind them that Confirmation is not a “graduation” from Religious Education but just the beginning of their faith journey.

This year, we will also begin transitioning our Confirmation program into an 8th-9th Grade program.  The students will begin their Confirmation Preparation in September of their 8th Grade school year and be Confirmed at the end of September during their 9th Grade school year, discontinuing weekly classes during their summer break.  These classes will be divided into two identical sessions offered on Sunday afternoons from 3:45-5:15 pm and Tuesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 pm.  The availability of these classes will be considered on a first-come, first-serve basis.  In order to enroll for Confirmation, your child(ren) will be required to fill out an online application form and schedule an appointment to come to our office and complete the application in person.
